Somewhere in the Vojvodina a railbus dating from the late 1940s gets lost on tracks as old as Maria Teresa. The dispatchers at the small rail road stations grow more and more anxious as no trace is to be found of the timeworn vehicle gone astray in the vast planes. They keep calling each other again and again on their ancient telephones and try to supply the growing number of waiting passengers on the platforms with any kind of information. Most of the passengers, however, seem resilient and stubborn, some of them waiting for hours in the middle of nowhere.
Meanwhile, inside of the loud, rattling railbus, authors, assisted by speakerphones, read their stories and personal recollections of Hungarian and Yugoslavian, factual and fictional history to the co-travelling listeners, crammed together inside this metal construction – we hear the story of some poor Hungarians trying to fight off the invasion of their town by Russian soldiers in 1956; the recollections of drMáriás, avoiding Serbian military service through a last minute escape over the Serbian-Hungarian border; the nostalgic reminiscences of a former Yugoslavian secret service agent, etc.. Soon, the authors' voices and stories break free of the narrow railbus compartment and trespass into the empty Vojvodinian spaces around them, to the platform stations, into the telefax machines, the radios and even the telephones of the dispatchers. The voices and stories start to converge into one big space in which schedules and directions become obsolete.

The movie contains:
1) documentary footage of the Kultúr Csempész Sínbusz Fesztivál, which, until 2013, took place in railbuses travelling between Szeged (Hungary) and Subotica (Serbia) in which Hungarian and former Yugoslav authors read their texts and musicians played their music to a co-travelling audience.
2) parts in which fiction and fact mix: three of the dispatchers are actors acting according to a script; sometimes, real dispatchers interact with them. All the waiting passengers on platforms as well as are the people living along the tracks are real people. Sometimes they were instructed to do what they're doing, sometimes not.
3) voices of authors reading their texts recorded inside and outside of the rail bus.
