Screenplay: Margaret Cox
Music: UNKLE

A six movement montage, combining archive footage with instrumental music from UK Electronic music group UNKLE's 2007 album "War Stories", to chart war from the air from World War One to the present day. The specific emphasis on the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki Japan at the end of World War Two, poses the question: "If the temperature in the world rises once more, could this happen again?"

Margaret COX

Margaret was born in London in 1977, and has lived in Dublin, Paris, Moscow, Tokyo, Los Angeles and New York. As a student she worked in the Art department and did a Masters specializing in Japanese Cinema. After she moved to Los Angeles she met Creative producer, David Milch, and started writing. She worked on the HBO television series, Deadwood and John From Cincinnati. She moved to New York and in 2008 shot her first short fiction film "Transferants”. The film won awards in Cuba, Ireland, Mexico and Slovenia. In 2010 Margaret moved to Moscow Russia, where she made her first documentary “Kozmos” about the Early Days of the Soviet Space Programme . In 2012, she began her collaboration with Anarcho-pacifist poet Heathcote Williams, creating Poetryfilm addressing themes such as political hypocrisy, planetary destruction and social injustice. Her most significant works include ”Royal Babylon: The Criminal Record of the British Monarchy”, “Game of Drones: President and the White House Fly”, against the American Drone policy and “Inheritance” profiling the Human Rights Abuses in the use of Depleted Uranium. “War Requiem” is Margaret’s most recent solo work.
